Am I missing something?

Really? I would have thought it showed that existing laws were quite enough to cover that territory. I guess that's why I'm too dumb to be in politics.

possibly a reference to the several previous attempts to nail the bugger that have failed...the CPS have refused to prosecute on "several" previous occasions a spokesman said (on my Radio) this morning.
Yes, I suspect that is what is meant, but I still think if they can convict him now for soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred, they don't need further powers. Maybe they just need to get more ballsy about prosecuting at an earlier stage, but using the existing laws.
